The challenge

Institutional clients needed execution latency low enough to compete, with full auditability of every order.
Onboarding required AML and KYC checks that were handled manually and slowed account activation.
Transaction volumes spiked unpredictably with market events.

Our approach

Modelled the order lifecycle and failure modes before any UI work.
Chose an event-driven architecture with Redis streams for order routing and Node.js services for execution.
Built security reviews and load tests into every sprint rather than at the end.

Node.js execution services with Redis-backed order books and streams, containerised with Docker for horizontal scaling.
A Vue.js trading front end with real-time positions, risk limits and audit views.
Automated AML and KYC verification through regulated API providers with evidence stored for compliance.
